The Commercialization Practicum

Students gain tech-based experience applying classroom learning to real-world business challenges during the eight-month Commercialization Practicum. During the practicum you will build a business from the ground up, work with local startups or introduce a new solution to an established firm. This real-life project is not replicated in any other graduate-level business program in Canada – this is the MBET Advantage!

Supported by strong mentors, MBET candidates are coached by experienced faculty and industry professionals as you bring the new venture to market

The MBET Advisory Council members and the Entrepreneur-in-Residence volunteer their leadership talent and are a tremendous resource to you during the MBET program and beyond, these individuals make this program an unmatched experience.

MBET is the degree that produces graduates who are set apart from their colleagues in general business programs by emphasizing technological, innovative and entrepreneurial energies that are the foundation of Waterloo’s reputation. The program has been designed specifically to fill a market need for individuals with the business knowledge and skill to successfully move ideas and innovations into commercial practice.
